I am that orphaned child planted by the Niger admist the cactii
Embodied in Trinity for my body is green, my soul is white and my spirit green
I bear the mark of the African tattoo
It is the weight upon my shoulders
These I seek of the Divine, this will I sort after
WHENCE, HITHER and WHITHER I am
Guide thou me spirit of my father’s by the moon and the stars
WHENCE
By the great river Niger 7nights I paddled with no insight
Until the rise of the mid-day sun
I saw and contemplated my reflection upon the waters
The image unfurl a maiden full and ripen as Bananas
Suitors from the East, West, North and South canvas my father’s hut
Bearing foreign gifts that has never passed through this paths
You were this Great said the the river Goddess
Shaped with potentials and the Envy of all
HITHER
At the intersection of the great Y
Overwhelming pains of Today to the rottenness of my bones
For I am carried and hawked as oranges
By members of my house for foreign currency
That flower that blossomed once, that brought her fruits in season
Now coarsed to the ridicule and scorn of her mate
I am the proverb of the tree brought down by an axe
Who ellected the axe ruler of the forest for it’s wooden handle
WHITHER
Beyond the Niger at the other side of the great Y
Is the Benue, iwas not allowed to paruse in this mortal form
For it is the land of the unseen full of possibilities
I gaze upon this new land with lust for her beauty is not vain,
A perspective of fota morgana appeared
Splitting in two ” the 2-horses”
Ridding the one left, I saw a land of desolation
watered by the blood of her offspring
nakedness lay bare and no one comforts her as she wails
Tears rolled my cheek as I returned
Ridding the horse by the right,
it opened unto me a land green with pasture,
the mystical virgin Cannan flowing with milk and honey,
a land that care for her young restored to her place of glory with a smile upon her face
The joy of this expression still lingered my countenance when the voice beckoned
“The past is lost in her Glory, the future is open ended what matters is Today”.
NIGERIA WILL ARISE SHE SAYS….PLANT THE SEED OF HER SPLENDOR TODAY
